Provider: NAS Innovation LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company Postal address: 82 Wendell Ave Ste 100, Pittsfield, MA 01201 Billing support: https://baobudget.com/support · Billing & refund email: support@baobudget.com · Legal notices: legal@baobudget.com

These Subscription & Billing Terms are incorporated into the Bao Budget Terms of Service, and are published separately for easy reference.

1. Summary of the Offer

Bao Budget is a paid subscription. There is no free tier. Your subscription renews automatically and charges your payment method automatically until you cancel it.

How to cancelSettings → Manage billing (see §7)Settings → Manage billing (see §7)

On the Annual plan, the amount charged to your payment method is $96.00, billed once every 12 months. The $8.00/month figure in the table above is a comparison rate — $96.00 divided by twelve. The Annual plan saves 20% relative to paying monthly for twelve months ($96.00 against $120.00), and it is pre-selected on our plan chooser. You may switch to Monthly before you pay, and the plan you are about to be charged for is shown to you at checkout before you confirm.

Prices are stated in U.S. dollars. Applicable sales, use, or similar taxes may be added at checkout and shown before you confirm; the total you approve at checkout is the total that is charged.

2. Automatic Renewal

2.1 Your subscription is a continuous, recurring, automatically renewing service.

2.2 At the end of each billing period, your subscription renews for another period of the same length, and your payment method is charged the then-current price for your plan, without any further action by you.

2.3 This continues until you cancel. There is no fixed end date and no expiry.

2.4 Your affirmative consent to automatic renewal is collected as a separate step, before your first charge. It is not bundled into your acceptance of the Terms of Service, it is not a pre-checked box, and accepting the Terms of Service alone does not enroll you in a recurring charge. We retain a record of that consent — what you were shown, and when you agreed — for as long as you maintain an account with us. If you delete your account, the consent record is deleted with everything else.

3. Pre-Purchase Disclosures

Before we take your first payment, and again before any renewal at a changed price, we present the following clearly, and adjacent to the button that authorizes the charge:

  • the name of the plan;
  • the amount that will be charged and the currency;
  • the length of the billing period and the fact that it renews automatically;
  • the date of the first charge and, where a trial applies, the date the trial converts;
  • how to cancel, and a link to do it;
  • links to these Subscription & Billing Terms, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy.

The renewal price is presented as the most prominent pricing element, at checkout. The app itself states no price: our plan chooser names each plan and its billing cadence, and the amount you will be charged is shown to you on the Stripe checkout screen before you confirm. For the Annual plan, the figure presented at checkout is the amount charged: $96.00, billed once every 12 months.

4. Free Trials

New subscribers who add a payment method receive a 30-day free trial. We may withdraw or change trial availability for future signups (§4.3), and the checkout screen states the trial's end date before you enter any card details. You are not charged during the trial, except as described in §4.2. If you cancel before the end date shown at checkout, you are not charged at all.

4.1 A code does not lengthen the trial. Where a referral or campaign code resolves at signup, it records the trial's source; the trial still runs for the same 30 days.

4.2 Your trial works as follows:

  • the trial runs for 30 days from the date it starts;
  • the trial converts automatically into a paid subscription at the end of the 30 days, at the price of the plan you selected ($10.00/month or $96.00/year), charged to the payment method you provided;
  • you may cancel at any time during the trial (§7) and you will not be charged;
  • if you cancel during the trial, your access continues in accordance with the cancellation rules in §7;
  • we send you an email reminder at least 7 days before the trial converts, stating the date of conversion, the amount that will be charged, and carrying a direct link to cancel (§6), and we send further reminders as the conversion date approaches;
  • one trial per person and per payment method. Trials are not stackable and may not be re-triggered by applying a second code.

If a trial is started with an email address or a payment method that has already been used for a trial, that trial was not validly granted. We may end it immediately, at which point your paid subscription starts and the first charge is taken. We tell you when this happens — in the app and by email — stating that the trial has ended and what has been charged. This applies to a trial we end under this paragraph.

4.3 We may withdraw, shorten, or change trial availability for future signups at any time. Apart from a trial that was not validly granted (§4.2), we will not retroactively shorten a trial already granted to you.

5. Payment, Payment Methods, and Failed Payments

5.1 Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and card numbers never reach Bao Budget's servers. We receive from Stripe your email address, your name, an internal reference to your account, and the status of your subscription.

5.2 You authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method the amounts described in these Terms, on a recurring basis, until you cancel.

5.3 Please keep your payment details current. If a charge fails, Stripe may retry it according to our retry schedule. If payment ultimately cannot be collected, your subscription may be cancelled and access to the app suspended — Bao Budget's authenticated app is gated on an active subscription, so a lapsed subscription means you cannot open the app until billing is restored.

5.4 Your data is not deleted because a payment failed. Suspension for non-payment is not account deletion. Deletion occurs only when you request it, or under the retention rules in the Privacy Policy.

5.5 Statement descriptor. Charges currently appear on your statement as NASINNOVATION — our legal entity name, NAS Innovation LLC — rather than BAOBUDGET.

5.6 Receipts. We send you an emailed receipt or invoice after every charge, including every automatic renewal.

6. Notices

Every notice listed below is sent by email, in a form you can retain, and every one of them contains a direct link to cancel.

NoticeWhen we send itWhat it says
Trial endingAt least 7 days before a 30-day trial convertsConversion date, amount, plan, cancel link
Annual renewal~35 days before each annual renewalRenewal date, $96.00 (or then-current price), cancel link
Monthly plan reminderAnnually, for continuously active monthly subscribersThat the subscription is still active and still renewing at $10.00/month, cancel link
Price increase21 days before the increase takes effect — and in no case fewer than 7 nor more than 30 days beforeOld price, new price, the date it applies, cancel link
Any other change to the recurring agreementAt least 7 days before it takes effectWhat is changing, when, cancel link
Receipt / invoiceAfter every chargeAmount, date, plan, cancellation instructions
Post-purchase acknowledgment (California ARL)Immediately after the subscription is first entered into — and, where a free trial is offered, the cancellation information must reach you before you pay anythingThe automatic renewal offer terms, the cancellation policy, and how to cancel, in a form you can retain

6.1 We will not increase the price you pay without emailing you in advance as set out above. An in-app notification is not sufficient notice of a price increase and we will not treat it as such — the notice will be sent by email, which you can retain. If you do not wish to pay the new price, cancel before the date stated in the notice and you will not be charged it.

6.1a The post-purchase acknowledgment is a separate legal requirement from the receipt, and one does not discharge the other. California's Automatic Renewal Law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §17602(a)(3)) requires that after a consumer enters into an automatic-renewal agreement we deliver, in a retainable form, an acknowledgment containing the automatic renewal offer terms, the cancellation policy, and information on how to cancel. Where a free trial is offered, the cancellation information must be delivered before the consumer pays — after the first charge is too late.

6.2 We do not treat a marketing unsubscribe as withdrawing your consent to billing and account notices. If you unsubscribe from Bao Budget marketing email, you will still receive the billing, renewal, price-change, and security notices described here.

6.3 Rejecting a material change: the change waits for your renewal, and, where it cannot wait, the unused portion is refunded. Terms of Service §22 gives you a right to reject a material change to the agreement.

First, the change waits. A material change takes effect for you at your next renewal, never during a period you have already paid for. Reject it by cancelling before that renewal: the period you paid for runs to its end on the terms that applied when you paid, and you are not charged again. Nothing is prorated and nothing is refunded.

Second, where it cannot wait, you are refunded. If a material change ever has to take effect during a period you have already paid for — for a legal or security reason we cannot defer — and you reject it, we refund the unused portion of that period, pro rata. That is an express exception to §8 below and to §4 of the Cancellation & Refund Policy. It is the only exception.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time, yourself, in the app. We will not require you to complete a retention interview, sit through a retention offer, or answer questions before we permit you to cancel. Cancelling requires no more effort than unsubscribing from a mailing list, and it is available through the same channel you used to subscribe.

The cancellation path is:

  1. Open Bao Budget and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Cancel subscription.
  4. Select Confirm cancellation.

The app confirms the cancellation and states the date your access ends. If you change your mind before that date, select Resume subscription in the same place and the subscription continues as it was — no new purchase, no new price.

Manage billing opens the Stripe-hosted billing portal, where you can also cancel, and where you update your card and retrieve your invoices.

If cancelling in the app does not work and the billing portal will not open either, email us and we will cancel it for you — see the Cancellation & Refund Policy §2.4.

7.1 Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain full access to everything you are paying for until the last day of the period you have already paid for, and the subscription ends then. We do not terminate your access at the moment you cancel, and we do not prorate or refund the remainder of the period.

7.2 After you cancel, your subscription does not renew and your payment method is not charged again for that subscription.

7.3 Cancellation is not deletion. Cancelling stops billing. To delete your account and your data, use the account deletion flow described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account also ends billing.

8. Refunds

Refund posture: subscription charges are non-refundable, with exactly one exception, set out below.

8.1 Charges are non-refundable. Once a billing period is charged, that charge is not refunded — including where you cancel part-way through a period, where you ceased using the app, and where a renewal you had forgotten about was processed. Cancelling stops the next charge (§7); it does not reverse the last one. The one exception to this rule is §8.2; there are no others.

8.2 The one exception: a material change we could not defer, which you reject. A material change normally takes effect at your next renewal (§6.3), so there is ordinarily nothing to refund. If one ever has to take effect during a period you have already paid for and you reject it under Terms of Service §22, we refund the unused portion of that period, pro rata. That is the only circumstance in which we refund a charge as a matter of policy.

8.3 The posture set out above is applied identically to everyone.

8.4 Nothing in these Terms limits any refund right you have under applicable consumer law, and nothing here prevents you from raising a charge with your card issuer.

8.5 The procedural detail — how to request a refund, what we require from you, and where the refund is returned — is set out in the Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is published alongside this one and forms part of these Terms. Refund requests go to support@baobudget.com.

9. Where Subscriptions Are Purchased

9.1 Subscriptions to Bao Budget are purchased from us, through Stripe, in a web browser. This is the case whether you began on the web app or on the mobile app.

9.2 The Bao Budget mobile app does not sell subscriptions in-app, and contains no button, link, or other control that initiates a purchase. It does not use Apple In-App Purchase, does not use Google Play Billing, and offers no hand-off to a browser to purchase. If you have no active subscription, the app states, as plain informational text, that subscriptions are managed at baobudget.com — no element of that screen is interactive toward a purchase.

9.3 That single informational sentence is shown only in the United States storefront, which is the territory in which Bao Budget is distributed.

9.4 If you ever purchase a Bao Budget subscription through an app store, that store's billing and refund rules govern that purchase, you must cancel it in that store's subscription settings rather than in the Stripe billing portal, and refunds for it are handled by that store, not by us. No such purchase path exists today.

10. Changes to Plans and Prices

10.1 We may change our plans, features, and prices for future billing periods.

10.2 A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

10.3 A price increase applies to you only after we have given you the advance email notice described in §6, and only from the date stated in that notice. You may cancel before that date and never pay the new price.

10.4 If we discontinue a plan you are on, we will notify you by email in advance and provide a means to move to another plan or to cancel.

11. Billing Disputes

11.1 Please contact us first at support@baobudget.com.

11.2 You retain every right you have with your card issuer. Contacting us does not waive it.

11.3 If we owe you money, we will return it to the payment method that was charged, unless doing so is impossible.

11.4 If a billing dispute becomes a legal dispute, it is governed by the dispute-resolution section of the Terms of Service, which applies to these Terms in full: the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts govern; disputes are resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules; hearings are remote/virtual unless both of us agree otherwise; and the small-claims carve-out and the arbitration opt-out both remain available. Legal notices, including an arbitration opt-out, are sent to legal@baobudget.com. Nothing in this §11 substitutes for reading that section of the Terms of Service.

12. Nature of the Service

Bao Budget is a subscription software product. Bao Budget is not a bank and does not hold, move, or have custody of your money. Your subscription purchases access to the app. It does not purchase financial advice, and nothing in the product constitutes a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

13. Changelog

VersionDateChange
1.1.0September 7, 2026Material change. §4 now states that new subscribers who add a payment method receive a 30-day free trial, rather than stating that no general free trial is offered. §4.2 adds the consequence of a trial started on an email address or a payment method that has already had one: that trial was not validly granted, we may end it immediately, your paid subscription starts, and the first charge is taken. §4.3 is reconciled to that exception.
